Job Title: Music Therapist
Qualifications: MT-BC preferred with minimum of one year working with special education populations. Will consider senior-level students with experience working with developmental disabilities, autism, etc.
Compensation:
Contractor Positions start at $25/hour
Full-time employee positions start at $32,000 +mileage, health insurance and other benefits.
Description: Private music therapy services company seeks advanced students and MT-BCs to provide group and individual music therapy in the Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach areas. Opportunity for working in a variety of settings including: classroom, clinic, and private homes. The ideal candidates will have a basic knowledge of cognitive and behavioral strategies, psychological and developmental theory. Candidates will conduct group and individual music therapy services as well as develop treatment goals with director supervision.
Must have reliable transportation and ability to work independently. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus!
Applicants should submit the following:
1) Resume and Cover letter describing experience with special needs populations, preferred location/cities for contracts, times available, days/number of hours willing to work per week, start and end dates available
2) Copy of school transcript indicating music therapy courses taken
3) 2 professional letters of reference; at least one from a music therapy professor if still enrolled in a university
4) VHS tape of applicant accompanying self on 2 songs each on guitar and piano, differing styles, to demonstrate musicianship. Total of 4 songs please. Note: no actual clients are to be used in this tape.

Job Title: MT-BC (Two positions)
Salary: $30,000-35,000
Start Date: August 2006 (ASAP)
Qualifications: MT-BC; minimum of one year working with special education populations. Will consider new graduates with internship experience working in this area. Expected to be board-certified within 6 months of employment.
Description: Private music therapy services company seeks to hire TWO MT-BCs to provide group and individual music therapy to persons with autism, developmental disabilities, and related disorders in the Miami & Ft. Lauderdale areas. Opportunity for working in a variety of settings including: classroom, clinic, and private homes. The ideal candidate will have a basic knowledge of behavioral strategies and interventions as well as augmentative communication systems. Candidates will conduct MT evaluations and develop treatment goals with director supervision. Positions are salaried based upon a 40 hour week and may require evening and/or weekend hours. Must have reliable transportation and ability to work independently. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus!
